Abstract

The report was prepared to inform on the total allowable commercial catch (TACC) of spanner crabs in managed area A for the forthcoming two quota years 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027 and 1 July 2027 to 30 June 2028. Standardised commercial and fishery independent survey catch rates were compared against reference points for spanner crab abundance. The results suggested that the fishery was at 51% of its target reference point, and above the limit reference point.
