AbstractFifty South Australian x Peppin Merino ewe Iambs ranging from 4 days to 6 weeks of age were mulesed in August 1968 in conjunction with lamb-marking on a property in the Augathella district of south-western Queensland. The radical Mules operation was used. Fifty ewe lambs of the same age and from the same flock were left unmulesed.
