Morphological characteristics indicate that it is placed incorrectly in Sphaceloma, and the new combination Denticularia mangferae is proposed. Pathogenicity to mango leaves has been demonstrated with a culture isolated from mango in Queensland, and with inoculum taken directly from sporulating leaf lesions.
