Some effects of plant-spacing and nutrition on the yield and nut quality of Virginia Bunch peanuts

Abstract

In trials during 1962-5, in years of adequate rainfall, yield increases were obtained by doubling the normal number of 14, 520 plants/ac in rows 36 in. apart; however, these yield increases were uneconomic. Yield responses to fertilizer indicated that the usual rates of application could be increased with economic benefit. No significant effect of plant spacing or fertilizer application on kernel quality was shown.-F.A.S.
