Abstract

Survey of high yielding atemoya (Annona spp. hybrids) orchards was conducted in subtropical Australia to establish new leaf nutrient standards for atemoya plant. Overall, seasonal leaf nutrient patterns for cvs. African Pride and Hillary White, the two leading cultivars, and rootstocks in Australia, were similar to one another and to those previously established for Annona spp. hybrids. Leaf nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium concentrations decreased through the season, while calcium and magnesium increased. The current leaf sampling time, about 1 month prior to harvest, was found to be appropriate. New leaf nutrient standards have been set that will replace existing standard. Leaf nutrient standards for boron have doubled and those for calcium increased by 58 percent compared with those previously set.
