Abstract

The taxonomy of the genera Neoscrobiger Blackburn, 1900, Olesterus Spinola, 1841, Scrobiger Spinola, 1841 and Trogodendron Spinola, 1841 is reviewed resulting in the reinstatement of Dyslophocera Schenkling, 1900 rev. stat. (formerly in synonymy with Trogodendron), and the description of two new genera, Allotrogodendron Bartlett gen. nov. and Parascrobiger Bartlett gen. nov.. Six new combinations are proposed: Allotrogodendron bartolozzii (Gerstmeier, 2020) comb. nov., Allotrogodendron ephippium (Boisduval, 1835) comb. nov., Allotrogodendron tenebricosum (Elston, 1921) comb. nov., Olesterus rufipes (Elston, 1921) comb. nov., Parascrobiger monstrosus (Gorham, 1876) comb. nov. (all transferred from Trogodendron), and Neoscrobiger stirlingensis (Gerstmeier, 1990) comb. nov. (transferred from Olesterus). Scrobiger albosignatus Pic, 1941 syn. nov. is synonymised with Scrobiger albocinctus (Pascoe, 1860), and Neoscrobiger kaputarensis Bartlett sp. nov. and Scrobiger aberratus Bartlett sp. nov.. are newly described. Keys to genera, and to the species of Allotrogodendron, Neoscrobiger and Scrobiger, are provided. Photographs of diagnostic characters and male reproductive parts are presented for each genus. A checklist of species, including synonyms, for each genus is provided as an appendix.
