Abstract

This work describes Australia’s National Mango Genebank, containing more than 350 Mangifera accessions from around the world. The collection is being evaluated for traits including fruit quality, vigour, sweetness, fibre content, embryo type, and blush characteristics. Diversity analyses, genomic tools, and phenotypic prediction are being used to identify superior breeding parents and progeny for development of improved commercial mango cultivars.
