Abstract

Dung distribution is used as an index of distribution and grazing of herbivores in rangelands. A calibration technique that assesses the consistency and accuracy with which an observer records the amount of dung present at monitoring sites in mulga (Acacia aneura) land, and corrects for over- or under-estimation of pellets, is described.
