Comparison of biosuper with superphosphate as a phosphatic fertilizer for wheat

Abstract

Biosuper, a granulated mixture of rock phosphate and S in the ratio 5:1, has been compared with superphosphate as a P fertilizer for wheat on 2 P-deficient soils of the Darling Downs. 25 kg P/ha as superphosphate increased grain yield by 250 and 400 kg/ha on a black earth and red-brown earth, resp. Large responses in DM production and tissue conc. of P also occurred on both soils in glasshouse trials. Biosuper had very little or no effect on yield or P uptake on these soils.
